KDEPrint Printing System

Introduction

KDEPrint is an integral part of KDE since version 2.2.0. This site aims at helping everybody, users as well as developers, to find their way around KDEPrint.

• Do you want to learn more about the features of KDEPrint or see it in action? Go to the Information and Screenshot sections.
• Are you interested in contributing? Have a look at the Get Involved section.
• Are you having trouble with your printer and don't know what to do? The various documentation sections such as the FAQ and Tips may be of assistance.
• Are you a KDE developer? The Developer Resources section contains useful information for you.

Both this site and KDEPrint are evolving fast. So be sure to come back from time to time and have a look at the Printing News section to be informed about latest additions.

Contribute

At this moment, the KDEPrint team is composed of a few people who mostly work on KDEPrint in their spare time. Contributions are of course always welcome in any form: bug reports, wishes, patches, graphics,... See the Getting Involved section to learn how you can help us.

The most wanted contribution is somebody to develop the LPR support in KDEPrint. Currently, KDEPrint contains only basic support for LPR, which could be improved, like the current CUPS support. Any LPR (LPRng, GNUlpr, etc) plugin developer would be greatly appreciated.

The main parts of KDEPrint are built into the release so can't be downloaded separately. However, on this site you can find various documents that may be useful for increasing your knowledge of KDEPrint. See the Documentation section, especially the KDEPrint Handbook written by Kurt Pfeifle.
